  Citadel Students (& Alumni):

Plan your day at the career fair ahead of time by taking the following steps.

1.
Determine/Confirm your career interest(s) by taking/re-taking the FOCUS online Career Interest & Education Planning Profile System. Compare your YOUR Personal Portfolio (a customized report of your work within FOCUS) with the employers and graduate schools attending the fair. Meet with the representatives of interest to you to learn more about their opportunities, as well as introduce yourself and share how your interests are a fit with their organization.

2.
Please review the appropriate checklist to help you prepare for the Career Fair, by reviewing what to do prior to, during, and after the fair.

3.
Become familiar with the Fall 2008 Career Fair Participants by reviewing the information they supplied on their registrations to attend the fair. View the Alphabetical Participant Listing and Map to find the organizations of interest to you. Copies of the Map will also be available at the fair.

4.

Sign-In with the Career Center in the front Lobby of the Holliday Alumni Center before entering the fair.

5.
CGC Students & Alumni attending the Career Fair may park in the Holliday Alumni Center Parking Lot at Congress Street. Do NOT park in the marked Holliday Alumni Center Employee Lot, the Visitor Parking at the front of the building, or the south side parking lot that belongs to the Charleston Army Corps of Engineers. Cadets should walk to the Career Fair.

Attention Civil and Electrical Engineering Firms:

Firms seeking civil and/or electrical engineering majors for full-time, internship, and/or summer/seasonal positions may request an invitation to The Citadel Fall 2008 Career Fair. However, with the increased interest in attendance by such firms and the need to provide a balanced fair (see the Fall Career Fair Policy above), not all those requesting to attend will be able to do so.

As an alternative, please note that the student organizations (ASCE and IEEE) within The School of Engineering will be holding their 2nd Annual Professional Activities Event (PAE) to be held on Thursday, October 23rd (the week after our Fall Career Fair). The PAE (brochure) will include a resume book and opportunity to meet with freshmen through senior CE and EE majors. This is a student lead event with specific details being finalized once students return for Fall 2008. If interested in participating, please contact the PAE Student Coordinator, Brad Roberson, via EngineeringPAE@citadel.edu. (Dr. Kevin Bower, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, (kevin.bower@citadel.edu) advises the ASCE student organization).
