Major Harry Davakos, D.P.E.

I am an Associate Professor of HESS and my teaching responsibilities cover the fields of Sport Management (directing the program) and Pedagogy.   I teach courses of Sport Marketing, Administration, and Finance of Sports, as well as subjects in Managing Sport Organizations, Sport Psychology and Sport Sociology, and I oversee the Field Experiences for the Sport Management students.   My research interests are in Student Portfolios, Economic Impact of Sports, Human Resources issues in Sports, and Internationalization of Sports and Kinesiology.    I have served in the HESS faculty since 1997.   Please visit my web page to access the courses that I teach at The Citadel.

Captain Dena Garner, Ph.D.

Colonel John Carter, Ph.D.

I am a Professor and Chair of the Department of Health, Exercise, and Sport Science. I have been a member of the Citadel Family since 1984 and I advise our health and wellness undergraduate students and graduate students in our M.S. program in HESS.  My primary research areas of interest are exercise, health and wellness, human nutrition, and the aging process, and I teach introductory major courses and health courses for our undergraduate majors as well as health courses for our graduate students.
