Patrick Speelman specializes in eighteenth-century warfare and intellectual history. He earned his B.A. in
History from Ohio State in 1994 and his
M.A. and Ph.D. in History from Temple in 2000. His
publications include Henry Lloyd and the Military Enlightenment of Eighteenth-Century Europe (Greenwood,
2002), and an edited volume, War,
Society and Enlightenment: The Works of General Lloyd (Brill, 2005). 
He
is currently co-editing a volume of essays on the Seven Years' War
(1756-63) for Brill.
Speelman teaches courses in European and world history.
