If you enjoy the challenge of answering questions like these, then College Bowl may be for you! College Bowl is a game of academic knowledge and quick recall. In existence for almost thirty years, the College Bowl campus program is a popular tradition on American campuses. The Citadel is among more than 300 institutions of higher education involved in College Bowl. Like the radio and TV series of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, the game features two teams of four players each competing to score points to toss-up and bonus questions. The questions cover every conceivable topic from literature, science, history, geography, religion, social sciences, multicultural topics, and the arts to popular culture, sports, and current events. The team practices once a week beginning in the fall. Each year, the team travels to the regional tournament; in 2007, we competed at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. If you are interested in this opportunity, please see Dr. Jack Rhodes in Bond Hall, room 290, or contact him by phone (953-3708) or e-mail (rhodesj@citadel.edu). |
