The Clean Cities Sweep is a community beautification event that takes place in North Charleston and Charleston each year. We invite volunteers to join us in beautifying the two cities. Anyone can volunteer to help in this effort. You can conduct a litter removal project, plant trees, shrubs, or flowers, clean up a waterway, have a clothing drive, or do countless other beautification projects.
The Clean Cities Sweep is fortunate to be a part of the Great American Cleanup which is the nation's largest community improvement program! Support from Keep America Beautiful, PalmettoPride, and City of North Charleston allow us to give out FREE Glad trash bags and gloves to Clean Cities Sweep participants while supplies last.
In 2007 we had 1,405 volunteers who collected 8,135 bags of litter and debris and planted 1,335 trees and/or flowers.
