Cadets explore academic challenges around the world
|
 |
Five cadets, all members of the Honors Program, participated
in The Citadel Summer Scholars Study Abroad Program as Star of the
West Fellows last summer. The program was created to support academic
enrichment of undergraduate students pursuing special postgraduate
scholarship opportunities. The cadets were able to experience the
academic atmospheres of other universities as an enhancement to their
Citadel studies.

"The Star of the West Fellows program provides an excellent
opportunity for these cadets to pursue their scholarly ambitions,"
said Citadel President Maj. Gen. John S. Grinalds. "With their exceptional
academic records and their quest for learning, they represent the
college well."
Funding for Star of the West Fellows is supported by a generous
grant from the Star of the West Foundation. The Star of the West
Foundation, established by the late William J. Wannamaker Jr., has
been awarding scholarship funds to The Citadel since 1952.
