The Citadel Post Office is a full service United States Postal Service (USPS)
contract station providing a wide range of postal services for The Citadel campus
and surrounding community. We are located on the first floor of
Mark Clark Hall,
next door to the
Gift Shop
and Barber Shop. Mail service is
an important part of our college, as a business and as a lifeline
to the world outside the campus. Our staff of five full-time employees
process over 2,000,000 pieces of mail each year. The main responsibilities
in the operation of The Citadel Post Office are to the United States
Postal Service, The Citadel and to our customers. We realize that good, quality
service and good public relations are two very important aspects of these responsibilities.
Due to a major renovation of our postal facility in 1996, we currently
house 2,614 campus mail boxes. All cadets and campus residents are eligible
to obtain a MSC box for their mail. MSC (Mail Stop Code) is
a postal code used to differentiate our box numbers from those of downtown
Charleston. The Citadel is considered a small town by Postal standards. Therefore, we
have our own unique zip code - 29409.
Hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Our window is also open on Saturday mornings from 7:30 a.m.
to 9:30 a.m. for parcel pick-up only. USPS money orders
are sold each weekday until 2:00 p.m.
