Bio
Robert Barsanti is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Citadel where he teaches and does research in the area of signal processing. From 2015-2020, Dr. Barsanti served as the William States Lee professor and department head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. He is currently serving as the James O. Rigney Jr. ’74 Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Until 2015, Dr. Barsanti also worked part-time as a senior engineer for Scientific Research Corporation in the areas of signal analysis, signal collection, and algorithm development.
Before joining The Citadel in 2002, he was on the faculty and a member of the mission analysis design team at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Dr. Barsanti is a retired United States Naval Officer with service in the submarine fleet. His memberships include the Eta Kappa Nu, and Tau Beta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
