The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a major component of The Citadel's 2004 reaffirmation process and defines "a focused course of action that addresses a well-defined topic or issue(s) related to enhancing student learning" (Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools: Handbook for Reaffirmation of Accreditation, 2003, p. 21). On August 20, 2004, The Citadel's Leadership Team for the SACS Reaffirmation Process formally adopted a Quality Enhancement Plan that affects almost every department in the college. It has been integrated into The Citadel's Strategic Plan and will be implemented over a period of two years. Informal mplementation began in the spring of 2004.
