Many companies will match the contributions that employees (possibly even retired employees or spouses) make to philanthropic and educational groups recognized by the IRS.
You can double - sometimes triple - your gift through matching
gift programs. Check with your company's personnel or human resource office about
their matching gift program. Please note that matching gifts do not increase your
charitable deduction, but they are used to determine your total giving to the
college.
