How do I set up my voicemail?
Cadets
:
To initialize your mailbox from your telephone:
1.) Dial the voice mail extension, 3-2020.
2.) Press (*) star and the system will prompt you to enter your mailbox number (1-XXXX).
3.) After entering your mailbox number, you will be prompted to enter the temporary password (100199 or 991001).
4.) Listen to the prompts and have your permanent password ready and enter when promted. Your permanent password can be 4 to 15 digits long. Use passwords that are easy to remember. DO NOT USE YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER AS YOUR PASSWORD.
5.) You will state your name when promted and record your personal greeting in the format designated in the blue book:

Hello, you have reached the room of cadet (name), (tiltle or position).
I am unable to come to the phone right now. Please leave your message at the tone.
If you forget your password you must contact Telecommunications to have your mailbox reset.

You will state your name when promted and record your personal greeting that is played to callers when your phone is not answered. Sample personal greeting:

Hello, you have reached (name), (tiltle or Department). I am unable to come to the phone right now. Please leave a detailed message and I will return you call as soon as possible. If you need immediate assistance, please press 0.

If you forget your password you must contact Telecommunications to have your mailbox reset.

What are the commands available for the voicemail system?

Ways to access your voicemail: dial 3-2020 (on-campus) or 953-2020 (off-campus).

Cadets: press (*). You will be prompted to enter your mailbox number (1-XXXX), you will hear your name after you enter your mailbox number, And THEN you will be prompted to enter your password.

Faculty/Staff: enter your mailbox number (3-XXXX) and password.

Once in the voicemail system, you will immediately be notified if you have unheard messages, then you will be given a choice of options. Occasionally, callers are not prompted for each menu option in the flowchart below, however these options are available to use.

How do I change my voicemail information if it was already set up by someone else?
If someone has already set up the mailbox and you don't know the password, you have to have the mailbox reset. Contact Telecommunications at 953-TELE (8353) to have your mailbox reset.

If you know the password from the previous person, call the voicemail extension 3-2020 and enter their password.
To record your name, press 4 + 3 + 3.
Then, to record your personal greeting, press 4 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 1 from the main menu.
If you would like to change the password, press 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1, from the main menu.

Why am I not getting any incoming calls?
If you are unable to receive calls, you may have accidentally activated Call Forwarding or Send all Calls. Pick up your handset and press #22, listen for three beeps, and then hang up.

If that does not correct the problem, pick up your handset and press #88, listen for three beeps again, and then hang up.

If you are still having trouble, contact Telecommunications at 953-TELE (8353).

My Info in The Citadel Telephone directory is wrong, how can I correct that?

If you find that your information in the online directory is incorrect, please contact the following office to update your information:
Cadets - see the Commandant

Faculty/Staff
The information in the directory can be updated in WISE Online or through the Human Resources Office. Click here to access WISE.

You may update items 1-4 below by accessing WISE online:
1. Home address
2. Home phone number
3. Office room number
4. Office telephone number

You may update 5 and 6 by completing a change form from Human Resources.

6.) Marital status, divorced and reverting back to maiden name with proper documentation.

Where can I go to send a fax?

For Official College business
There is a fax machine for official use only located in Telecommunications in Bond Hall, Room 244.

For personal use
There is a fax machine located in The Gift Shop in Mark Clark Hall for personal faxes. A nominal fee will be charged for personal use.
