Tom ThompsonTom Thompson, Director, is an Associate Professor of English at The Citadel, where he teaches undergraduate courses in composition and public speaking; he also teaches graduate courses in the MAT program and supervises student teachers. He has published articles and given conference presentations on assessment, teaching styles, responding to student writing, and writing across the curriculum.His most recent book, Teaching Writing in High School and College: Conversations and Collaborations, was published by NCTE in 2002.


Tiffany Henderson, Co-Director, has experience Tiffany Hendersonwith the Lowcountry Writing Project, as a Teacher Consultant, co-teacher of the Winter Institute and Summer Institute, and director of the Young Writers Camp and Conference. Tiffany has taught fourth grade at Charles Pinckney Elementary, and is now the Teacher Coach at Pinckney. Tiffany earned her Masters degree in Elementary Administration at The Citadel, and has recently added motherhood to her resume.

 

Emily Elliott, Technology Liaison, has been involved with the Lowcountry Writing Project since participating as a fellow in the 2003 Summer Institute. She has continued this involvement as aTeacher-Consultant,leading workshops on Digital Imaging and co-teaching 2007's Winter Institute. She has also taught for The Young Writer's Camp. Emily is a Technology Integration Teacher at Goodwin Elementary and graduated from the Univeristy of South Carolina, Aiken in May 2008 with a Masters in Educational Technology.


Nancy Ezell Suggs
, Administrative Assistant,
was the Director of Advancement Services for Nancy Ezell Suggsthe Roper Foundation before motherhood beckoned. Having worked in university-level fund-raising, alumni, and student affairs, she is excited to continue working with those who take education seriously. Holding a Bachelor's in English, she is particularly grateful to work with fellow Wordsmiths again! And being the wife of a high school English teacher who is also an LWP Teacher Consultant (Will Suggs), she knows the balancing act LWP participants face, so she strives to make easy the details necessary to complete LWP institutes, courses, and workshops.
