The Winter Institute offers teachers a chance to work on their own writing. While earning three hours of graduate credit (for ENGL 551), participants spend much of their time writing and discussing their writing with peers in response groups. The Winter Institute also features a variety of guest authors who share stories about their own writing, then lead discussions about writing in different genres, for different purposes and audiences, and under different constraints. Hours are 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesdays and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays.

Teachers in Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, Beaufort, and Colleton counties are welcome to apply. Applications will be accepted through January 25, 2008.
