Welcome to the 1842 Scholars Program
The 1842 Scholars Program is an institutional merit-based scholarship program designed to offer students the opportunity to engage with like-minded cadets through experimental learning and leadership. Through this program, cadets have the unique opportunity to explore academic passions, take intellectual risks, and develop as individual thinkers and principled leaders.
The 1842 Scholarship Program engages students while building the skills necessary to succeed at The Citadel and in life.
“Welcome to The Citadel. The 1842 Scholars provides a great opportunity to learn and practice both leadership and followership. The next four years will include the most challenging but rewarding experiences you can undergo, but the 1842 Scholars are here to help you throughout your time here. We hope you are ready for the challenge”
-Kyle Samida, 1842 Vice President
