OBJECTIVE 4.1
Engage in comprehensive strategic master planning effort to chart roadmap of The Citadel for the next fifty years.
ACTIONS:
- Complete as a living document and executed in Objective 4.2 with a planned refresh every 10 years.
OBJECTIVE 4.2
Maintain, build, renovate, and/or repurpose facilities on campus in support of the Campus Masterplan concept.
ACTIONS:
- Establish a fund and endowment for the continued restoration and enhancement of chapel facilities and programs in support of the Citadel chaplaincy’s strategic purposes.
- Renovate/repurpose existing spaces: Bryd Hall, Chapel Window Restoration, Fire Pump Holding Tank, East Side Stands, Duckett Hall, McAlister Field House.
- Feasibility study for Thompson Hall.
- Execute a Capital Renewal Program consistent with State Higher Education Facility Condition Index Model.
- Build replacement barracks, Engineering building.
OBJECTIVE 4.3
Invest in experiential and innovative teaching and learning space.
ACTIONS:
- Conduct feasibility studies for the use of technology to innovate student support services.
- Design and build temporary collaboration space in the library to meet campus need.
- Develop a summer grant program to incentivize faculty to incorporate innovative technology into the classroom.
- Renovate the teaching and learning classroom to match the existing classroom standard and charge a faculty led group to engage in continued innovation of the teaching and learning spaces on campus.
OBJECTIVE 4.4
Enhance campus safety and security.
ACTIONS:
- Complete fire suppression upgrade (‘Tank’ replacement).
- Continue adoption, development, and training of Bulldog Alert (BA) mobile and desktopapplications, and its associated communications and monitoring functions for PSAF.
- With campus partners, develop roadmap and funding for controlled facility access.
- Build on recent efforts supporting Safety and Law Enforcement (LE) Professional retention.
- Continued upgrades/integration of fire and other alarm systems with on-campus monitoring.
- Integrate campus-wide pedestrian and vehicle safety and security enhancements.
- Continue tidal/rainfall-caused flood small-scale mitigation for parking areas.
- Ensure perimeter fencing of ‘core’ campus remains part of facilities Master Plan.
