FAQs regarding AFROTC can be found below. This includes whether AFROTC will pay for your school, any commitment to serve, and signing a contract. Reach out if you cannot find the answers you’re looking for.
1. Will AFROTC pay for school for anyone that joins? No, AFROTC will not pay for school for anyone that joins. AFROTC has competitive scholarship programs for eligible and deserving high school and college students. All AFROTC scholarship awards are merit based. Find out more here: afrotc.com
2. Are cadets required to serve in the Air Force and sign a contract the first day they come to training? No. Cadets are not required to sign a contract with the Air Force or Space Force until they accept a scholarship or return from Field Training.
3. What is my commitment to the military if I sign a contract with AFROTC? The majority of Air Force and Space Force career fields require a 4-year commitment upon entering active duty. Exceptions include:
– Pilot: 10 year commitment after completion of pilot training
– Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA): 6 year commitment after completion of RPA training
– Combat Systems Operator (CSO): 6 year commitment after completion of CSO training
– Air Battle Manager (ABM): 6 year commitment after completion of ABM training
