The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes has proudly represented the United States and South Carolina on the world stage, performing at prestigious international events. The band’s history with the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo began in 1991, when they became the first military college band selected to perform at the world-renowned event that is broadcast to approximately 100 million viewers across 30 countries. From Edinburgh Castle to Halifax, Nova Scotia, our band brings tradition, precision and spirit to global audiences. Today, The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes is the only U.S. military college band ever invited to participate in the Tattoo, highlighting their exceptional talent and dedication.
Making History at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (2024)

Journey Interrupted: The COVID-19 Setback (2020)
The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes were invited to perform at the 2020 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, but the event was canceled due to the pandemic. This marked a disappointing but hopeful pause in the band’s international journey.
Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Return (2015)
The band returned to Edinburgh in 2015 for a third time, performing once again at the world’s largest military music festival, broadcast to millions around the globe.
