Bio:
Andrea Gramling is a senior instructor in the Biology Department. She teaches a range of general education courses including Foundations of Biology, Surviving the Apocalypse, the Standard American Diet, and Human Wildlife Conflict. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Andrea coordinates the General Biology Labs for non-majors.
Andrea earned a B.S. in Biology at Clemson University where she took as many plant focused courses as possible. She continued to study plant ecology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she received a multidisciplinary M.S. in Ecology. While in graduate school, Andrea spent several summers conducting research at Highlands Biological Station in Highlands, NC, and enjoyed being a teaching assistant for the Carolina Environmental Program. Before leaving UNC, she participated in the NC Teach Program and earned her high school teaching certificate.
Prior to teaching at the Citadel, Andrea was a high school science teacher at both Hillside High School in Durham, NC, and Garrett Academy of Technology in North Charleston, SC where she taught Earth Science, Physical Science, and Biology.
