Dr. Joel M. Gramling is a Professor of Plant Ecology and Curator of the Citadel Herbarium. Dr. Gramling is currently serving as The Citadel’s Director of General Education. His current research projects include the study of wetland restoration outcomes, ethnobotany of the South Carolina Lowcountry, and the status of invasive and rare plant species in South Carolina. Dr. Gramling has conducted floristic surveys across the region and actively works with the conservation community. Dr. Gramling is an associate editor of Native Plants Journal and hosts monthly meetings of the Lowcountry Chapter of the South Carolina Native Plant Society at The Citadel.
