Dr. Moran is an assistant professor of physiology, with research interests focusing on ecophysiology. This research explores the impacts of environmental conditions on physiological performance. Dr. Moran studies these relationships in fishes which are the most specious group of vertebrates on earth (~35,000). Specifically, he focuses on swimming, feeding and muscle performance. This research requires a combination of laboratory and field work to answer questions that have management implications. Dr. Moran will also teach Ecophysiology, Ichthyology, Fisheries Management, General Biology and Anatomy and Physiology.
