Background
Colonel Bill Connor has family roots in South Carolina going back to the mid-1700s, and grew up the son of a career Army officer. After graduation from The Citadel in 1990, he served over a decade in the Regular Army Infantry, including command of Light Infantry and Ranger Training units. Bill came back to South Carolina with his wife and three children to practice law while serving in the National Guard and then Reserve. He is the owner/founder of his law firm, Bill Connor Law Firm, LLC, and recently retired from the Army with over 30 total years of service. Bill’s last military assignment was as the senior Army Officer assigned from Northern Command to South Carolina (assisting South Carolina with Federal Military support during state emergencies). Bill has deployed operationally to the Central Command Area multiple times, including service as the Senior US Military advisor to Afghan National Security Forces in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. His combat decorations include the Bronze Star Medal and Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Bill currently serves as Chairman of the South Carolina Floodwater Commission National Security Task Force. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of the private Christian School, OCA, and President of multiple clubs in South Carolina, as well as countless state and local board memberships. He has been published in state, national, and international news sources and is a book author. Bill earned a peer review rating of “AV Preeminent”, the highest possible rating for ethics and competency as a lawyer. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the US Army War College. Bill is a recipient of South Carolina’s highest award, the Order of the Palmetto.
