Business Internships
An education developed through experiential learning is vital in helping a student grow into his or her new business leadership roles. The Tommy & Victoria Baker School of Business has developed a program in conjunction with area businesses and The Citadel Career Center to assist business students in gaining internships that will help them develop better business skills.
The internship is taken as a full credit course, Internship – Accounting (ACCT460), Economics (ECON460), Finance (FINC460), Business Management (MGMT 460), Marketing (MKTG460), and Supply Chain Management (SCMT460). Students must be at least of junior or senior standing, have at least a 2.5 GPA to register, have completed the prerequisite COMM 216, be in good standing (no restrictions), and must be competitively ready to apply for an internship with documents including a resume and cover letter (as needed). Students will need to also ensure they commit 2-3 afternoons (8 to 10 hours) weekly to their internship as this requires a minimum of 120 hours over the period of the semester to complete all requirements. Internships may not interfere with academic coursework or leadership training including Tues/Thurs training or Friday parade.
