The Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business learning outcome goals are listed below, as well as the core curriculum and assessment plan/method.
Goal 1: Functional Business Discipline Proficiency
Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the functional areas of business.
Goal 2: Leadership Potential
Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the skills and character traits necessary for effective leadership in a business organization.
Goal 3: Effective Professional Communication
- Students will demonstrate the ability to organize and deliver a logical, persuasive, and well-planned oral presentation on a business topic.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to compose, edit, and write a coherent report on a business topic.
Goal 4: Global Business Awareness
Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the issues, tools and techniques necessary for doing business in a diverse, global environment.
Goal 5: Critical Thinking
Students will demonstrate the ability to use critical thinking to analyze a business case.

Assessment Plan
The Tommy & Victoria Baker School of Business Administration learning goals are currently assessed in the following courses. The tools used include:
- Course embedded discipline specific assessments developed locally by subject matter experts and documented in the discipline specific assessment plan.
- Comprehensive, standardized exams (currently the Comp-XM)
- Artifacts generated from course embedded assignments evaluated by internally developed rubrics
The following matrix shows where in the curriculum each of the learning goals is assessed and the assessment method utilized (note that under the current assessment program the artifacts for non-discipline specific program-wide learning goals may be collected from many different courses in the required curriculum).
