Network Through LinkedIn!
LinkedIn is a great tool to kick off your professional brand and begin networking. We encourage ALL students to create a LinkedIn account and connect with everyone you know who could benefit from a professional capacity. Especially The Citadel network. LinkedIn is a free networking tool that can help you reach out to Citadel alumni, recruiters, hiring managers, previous employers or potential employers.
Once your LinkedIn account has been created, you need to build out your profile and start to Network through the site.
Informational Interviews
What is an informational interview? An informational interview is when you speak with a professional that is in a role that you are interested in. The main idea of an informational interview is to ask questions about the role, the industry, and company. We have seen great success from students utilizing the Citadel Alumni tab in LinkedIn to request informational interviews.
