As Acolytes fulfill an important role at the main altar, the Catholic usher is instrumental in celebrating mass by working amongst the people. Their duties include, but are not limited to, welcoming guests as they enter Summerall Chapel, keeping a head count for distribution of the sacraments, and gathering the collections that are essential for keeping the ministries running. Ushers normally participate setting up before every Mass and aid in the clean-up process afterwards.
