Bio:
Mr. Lester is currently the Information Security Manager for the SC State Ports Authority. As the senior security advocate and trusted advisor to the VP of Information Technology he is charged with assessing the Ports’ current environment and developing a vision and roadmap for enhancing information security across the organization and the maritime transportation supply chain.
Mr. Lester is a member of The Citadel Cybersecurity and Computer Science Advisory Board and helps promote a high degree of interaction between The Citadel’s Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences and cybersecurity professionals to ensure that The Citadel academic programs are relevant and of the highest quality and the students derive a competitive edge.
Mr. Lester is the current Chair of the Trident Regional Education Center Advisory Board (RECAB), one of 12 statewide REC advisory boards of the South Carolina Department of Commerce which seeks to support workforce development in the region by identifying gaps and facilitating solutions including the efforts of the Education and Economic Development Act (EEDA). The work of the Trident RECAB centers on aligning skill attainment with talent forecasts as well as bridging gaps between career interests and talent demands. The Trident RECAB facilitates connections to education, community and business resources and expands partnerships between education and industry to ensure a globally competitive region.
Mr. Lester previously provided innovative systems, solutions, and services in support of the critical missions of the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and federal law enforcement agencies charged with ensuring the safety and security of our nation. He focused on delivering essential counterterrorism, cyber operations, intelligence, data analytics, C4ISR, and force mobility solutions to customers throughout the national security community.
