Bio
Dr. Ryan is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at The Citadel and a Professional Engineer with 22 years of building and foundation design experience. Dr. Ryan is currently a voting member of the PCI Prestress Concrete Pile Committee and the PCI Pile Manufacturers Committee.
He is committed to sharing the purpose of engineering through interaction with national and local high school initiatives, such as Project Lead the Way, and ACE Mentors.
He remains connected to the practicing engineering and construction industries by providing limited design and consulting services through Ryan Structural Engineers, LLC.

Research
Dr. Ryan’s research interests include optimizing the efficiency of deep foundations, improving the design process of deep foundations, seismic design of structures, finite element modeling, and innovative construction techniques.
