Objective
The minor in Construction Management is designed to provide students with practical knowledge, quantitative/scientific aptitudes and basic levels of competency in construction engineering.
Competencies, Knowledge and Skills to be Achieved
Students obtain foundational perspectives of construction engineering and gain a working knowledge of construction scheduling, estimating, safety, contracts and project management.
Curriculum
Required Courses (2 courses, 6 credit hours)
CONE 311 Resource Estimating, 3 credit hours
CONE 415 Project Management and Engineering Administration, 3 credit hours
Elective Courses (choose any 3)
CONE 302 Engineering/Construction Law, Ethics, Safety and Contracts, 4 credit hours
CONE 312 Advanced Estimating, 3 credit hours
CONE 330 Quality Management and Labor Relations, 3 credit hours
CONE 350 Commerical Construction and Engineering Equipment, 3 credit hours
CONE 410 Project Scheduling, 3 credit hours
CONE 450 Facilities Operations and Maintenance (BIM), 3 credit hours
CIVL 331 Probability and Statistics for Civil and Construction Engineering, 3 credit hours
General Minor Requirements
- Student must take 15+ credit hours to earn a minor
- Only 3 of these credit hours may overlap with your major’s course requirements
- Courses beyond those listed in the “Additional Course Options” may be accepted toward minor course requirements. CECE Department Head approval is required.
- At least 9 credit hours must be completed at The Citadel (i.e., cannot be transfer credits)
- Students must meet all prerequisites and corequisites for the courses as stated in the College Catalog
