Chuck Dunne, Colonel, USMC (Ret.)
Born in Boston, graduated from The Citadel in 1990, and was commissioned into the Marine Corps through the Platoon Leaders Course.
Staff assignments include:
- Logistics Squadrons, where he served as the Logistics Officer, Operations Officer, and Executive Officer.
- U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT), assigned within the G3 as the Chief of Operations, and the Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF) Transition Planner during surge recovery.
- Regional Command Southwest in Afghanistan, deployed as the component planner for MARCENT in the C35, focused on USMC Componency, advisor team sourcing, and global force management.
- 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, serving as the Assistant Chief of Staff, Aviation Logistics Department.
Command Tours include:
- Company Commander, recruit training company, Parris Island 1995 to 1997
- Platoon Commander at Officer Candidate School in 1998
- Commanding Officer of Recruiting Station Columbia, SC from June 2002 to July 2005
- Commanding Officer Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31 from 2007 – 2009
- Commanding Officer Headquarters and Service Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command and Commander Camp Allen from 2015 – 2017.
- Commanding Officer, Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit, The Citadel, and the Professor of Naval Science 2017 – 2020.
Colonel Dunne attended resident professional military education:
- Career Level School at the Amphibious Warfighting School;
- Marine Corps Command and Staff College – graduating with a Masters of Arts in Military Studies; and
- Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University – Masters in National Security Strategy and Resource Management.
His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit (4), Meritorious Service Medal (3), Navy Commendation Award (3), Navy Achievement Medal.
