What We Do

FRAUD, WASTE AND ABUSE COMPLIANCE REPORTING

The OIC is responsible for collecting and investigating any reports of non-compliance with laws, regulations or Citadel policy, as well as allegations of fraud, waste or abuse of resources of the State of South Carolina by Citadel students, faculty or staff. There are several ways you can make a report:

Through Your Chain-of-Command

If you are a cadet, you can report to a member of your chain of command or a TAC officer.

Through Management

If you are a non-cadet student, you can report to a faculty or staff member. If you are faculty or staff – whether full time, part time, permanent or temporary – you can report to a supervisor or manager. If, however, you feel uncomfortable doing so, you can utilize one of the following methods below.

Through the Office of Institutional Compliance

It is the policy of the Office of Institutional Compliance to hold your report in the strictest confidence, if you so choose. If, however, you are still concerned about confidentiality, please use the EthicsPoint system outlined below. Please see the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.

Through EthicsPoint

Using the EthicsPoint systems ensures that you can make a report anonymously, if you so choose. EthicsPoint is a third-party vendor that is an industry leader in compliance and ethics-related reporting, and is available 24/7/365. Please see the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.

COLLEGE POLICIES

The Office of Institutional Compliance is the repository for all college-wide Citadel Policies. The OIC, in conjunction with various departments on campus, began an overhaul of all Citadel policies to ensure that all College-wide policies are up-to-date, approved by the proper authority, and properly posted. COMPLIANCE TRAINING

The Office of Institutional Compliance, in conjunction with the Human Resources Department, provides training on a variety of topics, including:

  • FERPA
  • Title IX
  • Sexual Violence Prevention and Response
  • Sexual Harassment

Training can be conducted in several formats, including in-person, webcast, video, and PowerPoint. We are also looking into expanding online-based training – more to follow. Contact us to discuss how we can help your department with your compliance training needs!
