The Zucker Family School of Education is thrilled to honor Ms. Champaigne. Toshiba is Charleston County School District’s Recruitment Manager and has worked tirelessly to ensure that our cadets and graduate students find placements for their internships and practica. Her collaboration has allowed us to foster new and grow existing relationships with teachers, administrators, and school counselors throughout CCSD. All of our cadets majoring in education and many of our graduate students in both teacher education and school counseling rely on our collaborative efforts to identify and secure mentor teachers and counselors.
In just one year of working together, Toshiba has helped The Citadel alone coordinate over 56 placements in practicum and internship sites within CCSD. This does not include the pre-service teachers she has served from College of Charleston and other local colleges and universities. Toshiba is thoughtful, intentional, and communicative, and her effort reflects deep caring for our educational communities. She goes above and beyond, often responding after hours and on weekends to make sure our students get placed in schools. Beyond this, she has offered to visit the Citadel to speak to students and has facilitated opportunities for our students to meet CCSD representatives in preparation for their internships and future careers in education.
