Bio
Dr. Ron Hayne is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Before joining the faculty at The Citadel in 2006, Colonel Hayne served 26 years in the U.S. Army. Highlights of his military career include positions at Space and Strategic Defense Command, Army Research Laboratory, and the National Security Space Architect.
Dr. Hayne’s academic experience also includes four years on the faculty at the United States Military Academy and six years as an adjunct professor at George Mason University. His research interests include computer architecture and hardware description languages. He is the author of several journal articles and a textbook chapter: Design of an Instructional Processor.
Dr. Hayne teaches a wide range of courses including the required freshman Introduction to Electrical Engineering, sophomore Digital Systems Engineering, and senior electives in Advanced Digital Systems and Computer Architecture.
