The Citadel English Club welcomes anyone who is interested in books, film, theater, and the arts. Club members meet during lunch several times during the semester and are invited to participate in cultural enrichment activities and volunteer opportunities on and off campus. If you’re interested in joining the Club, contact an English Club officer or the chair of the department, Dr. Scott Lucas.
The English Club plans to continue some of the events and traditions the group has established. The Club has explored the history and folklore of Charleston with tours, featured free pizza and movie nights, attended film screenings and theater performances, met with local veterans, and hold numerous other social activities. And, finally, the always popular end-of-semester party lets cadets celebrate the end of classes and relax with food and music before their final exams.
The Club is a resource for any English majors and minors and any other students who want to discuss any aspects of reading, art, and communication in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
