The Graduate College Research and Professional Development Program offers:
Funding for the Presentation of Research for Graduate Students.
A committee made up of staff members from the CGC, the Office of Grants Administration and Sponsored Programs, the library, and other support areas on campus, will review proposals and determine awards to students based on a set of criteria and policies that support reasonable expenses related to presenting their research at professional conferences. Students must present a paper at the conference to be eligible for support. The maximum allowed will be $500 per year. Awards will be based on the availability of funds. A final report must be submitted by the student demonstrating how the funds were spent.
Funding for Graduate Student Research.
These funds will be used to support small grants to graduate students who need funds to complete their research projects. A committee will review these proposals and determine awards based on the availability of funds and the merits of the projects. The maximum allowed will be $250 per year. A final report must be submitted by the student demonstrating how the funds were spent.
Leadership Development Workshops.
Graduate students interested in participating in workshops relating to leadership development or other opportunities relating to licensure or certification in their chosen fields. A committee will review these proposals and determine awards to students. Awards will be based on the availability of funds. The maximum support offered for these seminars is $150 per year. A final report must be submitted by the student demonstrating how the funds were spent.
Grant Writing Workshops for Graduate Students.
The Office of Grants Administration and Sponsored Programs will host workshops each year specifically for graduate students who are interested in seeking external funding for their research ideas. These workshops will be free to all graduate students.
Publishing Workshops for Graduate Students.
Workshops will be hosted by the Graduate College for those students interested in learning more about publishing their research. These workshops may be customized by discipline, depending on the level of interest by students. These workshops will be free to all graduate students.
