Bio
Dr. Christopher Sole is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Health and Human Performance at The Citadel. Dr. Sole completed his Ph.D., in Sport Physiology and Performance from East Tennessee State University. He also holds a Master of Science in Exercise Science from East Stroudsburg University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Manhattan College. As a sport scientist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), he has worked with collegiate athletes, first responders, and military personnel enhancing training practices and improving physical preparedness. Dr. Sole has been a member of the Citadel faculty since 2015. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, surfing, and spending time with his wife and three children.

Research Interests
Dr. Sole’s research interests include the integration of technology in sport and exercise, adaptation to strength and power training, and understanding the connections between training, performance, and injury in athlete and military populations. A significant area of interest for Dr. Sole is fitness assessment and the development of training and performance monitoring methods.
