The CitadelMary Bennett Murray Infirmary Geoffrey McLeod, DO, FAAFP, CAQSM Geoff McLeod is a fellowship trained and dual-boarded primary care sports medicine physician specializing in non-operative orthopedics, orthobiologics, musculoskeletal ultrasonography, and image guided intervention. His practice combines advanced medical management and diagnostic imaging with integrative techniques in effort to achieve the least invasive with quickest return to activity, sport and duty. He looks forward to working with the Corps of Cadets to improve their overall conditioning, rehabilitation, and safe return to duty.In fellowship, he was assigned to the United States Naval Academy working with multiple athletic trainers and two surgical orthopedists providing training room, practice and competition coverage for junior varsity and varsity American football, wrestling, men’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s hockey, and men’s and women’s rugby. He also assisted in mass participation coverage for the Marine Corp Marathon, and Army Ten Miler.While deployed in 2018-2019 he served as the primary orthopedic consult for the 380th Expeditionary Medical Group and special operations joint response forces including Army Operational Detachment Alpha and Navy Seals. He additionally functioned as the unit physician for Security Forces, Fire/Rescue, and Explosive Ordinance Disposal stationed at Al Dhafra air base.His passion in medicine has always been treating athletes in the clinic, the training room and especially on the field. He approaches the care of each patient with a multimodal and minimally invasive methodology in effort to return the injured to sport or duty as quickly as possible with negligible risk. He believes his field side and deployed experience in combination with his practice experience and integrative approach to medical care will provide a significant impact for the Corps of Cadets.
