Bio
Mr. Rooman is currently serving as an adjunct faculty professor in the Department of Engineering Leadership and Program Management (ELPM) in the School of Engineering (SOE) at The Citadel.
Mr. Rooman served 8 years of active duty military service is the United States Navy; as a Nuclear Engineer, he served onboard the USS Enterprise, and was a Nuclear Field Instructor at NPTU Charleston. Following his military service, he worked in various industries including construction, legal, manufacturing, and education. He has experience in Project Management, Risk Management, Environmental Safety and Health Management, Legal Training and Mass Tort Law, and training management. He quickly realized that his focus and primary interest was in Project Management and therefore went on to dedicate his career and education to the study and application of Project and Risk Management. He has been teaching the Overview of Technical Project Management and Risk and Decision Analysis for the Citadel, and has been enjoying working with The Citadel faculty.
Mr. Rooman has earned a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering, and a M.S. in Project Management from the Citadel. He is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Risk Management Professional (RMP), and Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP). He is currently working on his PhD in Project Management, with his dissertation focus on the implementation and integration of Enterprise Risk Management. He currently works at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) Atlantic as a Project Management Supervisor and is the Command’s Risk Manager.
