Bio
Dr. Shick is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Engineering Leadership and Program Management (ELPM) in the School of Engineering (SOE) at The Citadel.
When not teaching as an adjunct, Dr. Shick is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force with nearly 20 years of experience and has had numerous operational and staff assignments. In those positions, Dr. Shick has led people, teams, and flight crews on the ground and in the air. Further, he has had the privilege of leading various technical and non-technical projects and programs, many of which center toward Information Technology/Information Systems. Since the start of Dr. Shick’s military career, enabling and executing operations, and orchestrating the complexities of new and innovative methods to support operations have been the cornerstone of his professional life.
From an academic perspective, he has taught online and in-person graduate-level Strategy and Operations courses at Regis University’s Anderson College of Business and Computing, Denver, CO. He has also been a teaching assistant for graduate-level Statistics at Creighton University. Dr. Shick has earned multiple professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Projects in Controlled Environments 2 (PRINCE2) qualification, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB).
