Bio
Richard S. Keating, Ph.D., teaches the two-course leadership track in the MS in Project Management program. He has been in faculty positions at The Citadel, his alma mater, since 2018. He is also a Management Analyst with Liberty Business Associates of Ladson, SC, assigned to the US Navy’s Naval Information Warfare Atlantic support services contract.
Dr. Keating retired from the US Air Force in 2001, serving most of his career on the English and Fine Arts faculty of the US Air Force Academy as an instructor, assistant professor, Director of Composition, and faculty liaison to the Academy’s cross country and track and field teams. He served as a NATO exchange officer at RAF Cranwell, United Kingdom, in 1997. He also served as Director of Education and Training at Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom AFB, MA and began his Air Force career as a Minuteman ICBM launch officer and instructor crew chief at Ellsworth AFB, SD.
Dr. Keating served as Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at New England College, Henniker, NH, from 2001-2009, and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Western New England University in Springfield, MA. He also served as a member of the accreditation team for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges from 2016-2019.
Degrees
He has a Ph.D. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a M.A. in English from the University of South Carolina, an MBA from the University of South Dakota, and a BA in English from The Citadel.
