Dr. Gu got his bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering from China. After that, he came to the U.S and got a dual master’s degree in Statistics and Financial Economics. Dr. Gu found himself enthusiastic about statistical inference, so he decided to join a Ph.D. program to shape his expertise in Statistics. In the past 5 years, he also worked as an instructor in teaching mathematics and statistics. The thing he likes most about teaching is interacting with his students. He loves helping them understand statistical concepts, especially, when they see the connection between what they are learning and their lives.
His current research interests are related to Bayesian Inference, Statistical Learning, High-dimensional Inference, and Model Selection.
