Dr. Amy Emm

Dr. Amy Emm is an Associate Professor of German and Coordinator of the German Program in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures. Her research interests include the intersections of nature, gender and operatic representation in German literature circa 1800, with a focus in recent projects on the role of environment in drama. At The Citadel, Dr. Emm has taught courses in science and nature in 19th century German literature, surveys of drama, poetry and film, as well as German language and culture at all levels. She serves as German Club advisor and co-advisor of the German Honor Society and supports diversity on campus by participating in such programs as NCBI and Safe Zones.
