The Citadel’s Tau Iota Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, invites graduate and undergraduate students to submit their original works in Spanish to be considered for publication in Spanish to be considered for publication in El Cid.
El Cid
The Cid is a journal devoted to the dissemination of critical and creative work in Spanish of graduate and undergraduate students. Students who wish to submit their work do not have to be members of Sigma Delta Pi. All literary genres are considered (critical essays, short stories, and poetry).
Call for Submissions
The deadline for submissions for the XXXIII Edition (2023) is December 20, 2022.
Submissions should be sent to: elcidrevista@citadel.edu.
Criteria for submissions to El Cid:
Maximum of 5000 words.
Works submitted to El Cid should not have been previously published nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Students may send multiple submissions, but only one will be published in a particular edition of the journal.
All publications will be eligible for the Ignacio R.M Galbis literary prize for best original work.
Essays should follow MLA style (9th ed.) and be submitted as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files.
Please state the title, the student’s name, institutional affiliation, and email address on a separate page. No reference to the student’s name should appear elsewhere in the manuscript.
