Bio:
Dr. Ashley Bukay has been an Assistant Professor at The Citadel since September 1, 2021. She obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) an Associate degree in Science (AS) from Trident Technical College in 2010, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN): Summa Cum Laude from MUSC in 2014, her Masters of Science in Nursing Education (MSN-Ed) from Western Governor’s University in 2017, and lastly her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) concentration in healthcare systems leadership from Chamberlain University in October of 2021 with high distinction. Dr. Bukay has been a nurse since the spring of 2011 working primarily in the adult cardiac and vascular surgery areas, as well as cardiac procedural, and a short stint in pediatric outpatient psychiatry. On a personal note, she is originally from the Chapel Hill area of North Carolina and moved to Charleston in 2007. She spends her free time hanging out with her son (Alexander) and cat (Maverick). She loves all music, being around the water, sports, yoga, attending/serving at church, coaching her son’s soccer team, and traveling. She would like to improve her Spanish, umpire high school softball games, and learn acoustic guitar and American Sign Language (ASL). Her research topic interests include pedagogy, cardiology, simulation, and healthcare for Veterans.
