Coward Hall (Mess Hall)
Coward Hall, which opened in 1991, is named for Col. Asbury Coward, C.S.A., 1854. It is located behind Padgett-Thomas Barracks and overlooks the Ashley River. The entire first floor consists of the dining area, or “mess hall” as the cadets call it, that serves the entire Corps of Cadets for family-style meals after each mandatory breakfast and lunch formation. Additional dining rooms plus rehearsal rooms for the Regimental Band and the Cadet Chorale are located on the second floor along with the Regimental Commanders’ Riverview Room, a venue open to students, faculty and staff for events. The Riverview Room can accommodate up to 125 people and features state-of-the-art multimedia equipment.
