Bio:
Earning his MS from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, Rene Hurka has been a Physics Lecturer at The Citadel since 2006. In 2020, he became a Physics Instructor/First Lieutenant UMSC at The Citadel, and has earned some honors including Certificate and Medal of Appreciation – Citadel NROTC (2012), and Sigma Xi (2007). Some his favorite classes to teach are College Physics I and II and Physics with Calculus because of his math-minded expertise. Further, he has had publications “Physics Laboratory Manual for Scientists and Engineers” (2009) and “High-Temperature Anyon Superconductivity” (1997).
He enjoys a second employment at Hurka Monument Engraving in Summerville, SC where he also resides.
