Dr. Adriana Boersner Herrera
Assistant Professor
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Boersner Herrera joined The Citadel faculty in the fall of 2023 as an Assistant Professor of Political Science. She teaches International Politics, Latin American Affairs, and Democracy and Dictatorship. Dr. Boersner Herrera received her bachelor’s degree in international studies from Universidad Central de Venezuela. She attended the Universidad Simón Bolivar, where she received her master’s degree in political science. In 2013, Dr. Boersner Herrera was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study for a PhD. in Political Science at the University of Missouri, with a major in international politics and a minor in comparative politics. Her research interests are Venezuelan politics, Russia-Latin America relations, authoritarian politics, leadership and decision-making, and comparative foreign policy.
