Dr. Mark Owens

Assistant Professor

Mark Owens is an assistant professor of Political Science. His teaching and research specialties are legislative politics, southern politics, and survey research. He co-authored the book Battle for the Heart of Texas: Political Change in the Electorate.

Prior to teaching at The Citadel, Dr. Owens taught at UT Tyler and Bates College. He also spent time as a visiting doctoral student in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford.
