Zucker School of Education supports school leaders and tackles literacy
The Zucker School of Education is supporting principal development throughout the Tri-County area. Contracts awarded by the Anita Zucker Institute for Entrepreneurial Educational Leadership will enable faculty members to support Dorchester District II and Charleston County School District assistant principals and principals in their work through professional development workshops.
The school is also launching a new Center of Literacy Excellence focused on supportive measures to ensure all children receive high quality literacy instruction.
This center, made possible through a generous donation from Wes and Betsy Fuller, supports the professional development of pre-school through 12th grade educators to meet the diverse needs of students including English as a Second Language learners and others with exceptionalities.
The Center of Literacy Excellence was created to elevate teacher knowledge on the latest research related to assessment, curriculum, instruction and advocacy. Through their internships and classroom teaching experiences, participants will apply what they learn throughout schools in the Lowcountry to maximize impacts on student achievement.
