New faculty join The Citadel
The Department of Mechanical Engineering recently welcomed Assistant Professor Oguzhan Oruc to The Citadel. Oruc earned his doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of New Hampshire. His research focuses on nonlinear system identification-based modeling and control system design for autonomous underwater vehicles, remotely operated underwater vehicles, and autonomous surface vehicles.
Shadi Sadeghpour joined the Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences. Sadeghpour specializes in network security, DDoS, internet bots and botnets, cyber operations, and adversarial machine learning. She obtained her doctorate in computer science from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University, Toronto, Canada, in 2023.
Also new to the Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences is Farhath Zareen. Zareen received her master’s and doctorate degrees in computer science and engineering from the University of South Florida, where her research was focused on advancing medical technology and cybersecurity through innovations in software-hardware security, IoT, and AI machine learning. Along with a strong research background, she is committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
