The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship launched its Board Room Lunch, a series of private meetings with management and strategic leaders. The first guest speaker was former CEO of 8 Feathers Distillery, Larry Price. In an informal lunch setting, Price shared his experience of starting and running a whiskey and bourbon distillery with students in Strategic Management 449 and fielded personal and business questions about the challenges of being an entrepreneur and CEO.
Adjunct Professor of Practice Paul Meeks and six members of the Student Managed Investment Fund attended the Student Managed Investment Fund Consortium in Chicago. During the meeting, the students, who were among the first clubs in the consortium to manage $2 million, learned that their return so far in 2024 of more than 30% may have been the best of all the conference attendees. The group also visited Adams Street Capital, a prestigious private equity firm.
